Re: We Still have a chance! (For the NIT)
Gonna repost this from the post game thread:
I just looked at last years NIT and the worst records that got in for big conference schools were 5-11 in conference, but each team also had 20 wins.
We have absolutely no chance minus the NIT wanting to use us for a big crowd, which if I'm not mistaken would require home court advantage and I doubt we would get that if we got in.
So sorry to burst the optimists bubbles, but it isn't going to happen.

Obviously, inability to beat TT & OU at home ended up extremely limiting postseason possibilities.

Re: We Still have a chance! (For the NIT)
the only way the nit would take us is if we win out-including a big12 championship, in which case we'd be going to the real deal and not the nit.
hope to make it there next year.

Re: We Still have a chance! (For the NIT)
our best hope is for the cbi or one of those other tourneys that will only care about selling tickets. The NIT takes 20 wins or a strong conference record these days.
The only bigger turnoff than finding out a woman smokes, is finding out she's a Husker fan. -

Maybe, but 4-12 in the Big 12 doesnt get you that far. Maybe if somehow we would have beaten OU, TT, Nebraska, OSU ... THEN we would be looking good for the NIT.

Re: We Still have a chance! (For the NIT)
You know, I would go to a CBI game....what the heck. It is what this team and school could use right now. Kind of like going to the Independence Bowl and being glad you are there. CBI March 16th, ISU versus Southern Miss or UTEP in Ames. Free bobble head dolls given out.

I too would go to a CBI game.. no doubt about that.

We have nearly a zero percent chance at the NIT. They wouldn't even consider the last place team in any conference.

Re: We Still have a chance! (For the NIT)
A friend and I looked at the previous two NIT's and found that a few teams that had 17 wins, made the tournatment. We don't have any big wins but I think if we finished 18-15, we would be selected. Very doable with wins over CU, @KSU, and first round of tourney (KSU, Baylor, or CU).
WE CAN DO IT!

Re: We Still have a chance! (For the NIT)
NCAA has expanded to 68
NIT is 32
CBI is 16
That's 116 teams with postseason chances. I think there is a chance.
