Pullen got the nod over DG only because his team is successful right now. No way would he have gotten it after their loss to Colorado at home earlier n the season.....

I can't wait until we return to the point of putting multiple guys on this list. Props to DG on one hell of a season.

While I think is far and away the best point guard in the Big 12, I will be shocked if he gets any first team love from anyone. Most people will go with Pullen who has his team back in 4th place and they are red-hot right now (as is Pullen himself). Hopefully I am wrong because DG has had an incredible season, especially statistically, and really deserves more attention.

I have a hard time with these lists mostly because I don't know if it should be individual related or if there should be a component of team success. I watched a large number of games this year in which DG was the best guard on the floor. For that reason I would have to say he should be first team but part of me also hates to put the PG of a 3 conference win team as the best guard, and since it's a guards game, perhaps the best player in the conference. I think 2nd team is fair but I think you could make a case for 1st team.

I guess my definition of "schooled" doesn't include knocking the ball out of someone's hands only to have it bounce right back up to him and he puts in the game winning basket.

I think he could have gotten in the first team over Tristan Thompson. No way was Diante gonna get in over Pullen (media), but second team is still very good. Means he's a top 10 player.

no ill will to DG, I love him as our pg and wish we could have him for the next 2 season - but Pullen handled him.

Pullen is the best point guard in the Big 12 hands down. If you are going to have success at the next level, you have to score... Pullen averages 2 more points/game than DG but averages 2 less shot attempts/game.. DG is a good college point guard, but giving him 2nd team is plenty of love, IMO.

no ill will to DG, I love him as our pg and wish we could have him for the next 2 season - but Pullen handled him.

End of the game was always going to be tought on this year's team. DG has basically played every minute of every game. I know Pullenis out there a lot, but they do have a backup. We really had to run the wheels off of Garrett this year.

If by schooled, you mean almost had the ball stolen, then took the freak bounce in for the winning score, then I guess you are correct.

Congrats to DG! Guess this is undeniable proof that he is Big 12 caliber!

Can anybody come up with a statistic that puts DG as a better player than Pullen, for those of you that think Pullen being on the first team is a joke?
