Why are they scared of good ISU teams? Look at our history compared to the rest of the Big XII. I know at one time we had as many wins in Lawrence as the rest of the league combined. There's a reason Manning never won in Ames and his name is Grayer. The year Hoiberg won the conference tourney I know we beat Kansas I think it was the Semis. Tinsley never lost to Kansas. When Missouri and K-State are good they still come up short with the J-Hawks.
When I go to KC for the tourney I usually stay for the whole session. The exception is when we beat Kansas. When that happens I head straight for the car listening to the meltdown on talk radio is the highlight of the entire weekend. You serious Clark?

Re: My KU Theory
Oh, so that's how KU got the Morris twins out of Penn. and Taylor out of Jersey; we went after all three of them before KU had ever heard of these guys, since we recruit that area consistently. Then, when Self found out, he immediately offered those guys. Of course, there were a couple of other big programs after the Twins, but, hey, Self wasn't interested until we were. Self is really a clever guy with, I must say, a unique recruiting strategy. Wonder if that strategy will spread nationwide.

Re: My KU Theory
The fact that ISU and Texas have been the only road blocks for KU regular season Big 12 titles speaks to how dominant they've been.
Oklahoma? 1/2 a title they shared with KU.
Missouri? Zero.
A&M? Zero.
KSU? Zero.
OSU? One.
The teams that finish 3rd-6th on average have given them little to no push, yet ISU had two years where they dominated Kansas despite not making much noise for the rest of the conference history.
I don't buy that KU is offering players trying to keep ISU down, but I do believe that Ames could be a place where KU struggles. It's happened before so that's not tin foil hat territory. Don't know if I see us winning 5 in a row against them again, but that's more than the rest of the Big 12 has ever been able to pull off.

Hoiberg never won a conference tournament while playing at ISU. His team did beat KU in KC his senior year, but lost in the finals.

Point still stands when we're good, we beat Kansas.

The victory over KU in the semis was epic. I cannot accurately describe how insane the celebration was at Kelly's both during and after the game.

Re: My KU Theory
I think it's a valid argument to say that Kansas watches who we recruit.
And since they're my least favorite team I'm "all in" with the conspiracy.
Can't wait to see them lose in the Big Dance.
