Re: Boycott CBS
With just a few minutes left in Saturday's KU-MU game, fans watching on KCTV in Kansas City as well as KRCG in Columbia, Mo., and KMOV in St. Louis saw CBS cut away from the final few minutes of the game in favor of the Michigan-Michigan State game. KCTV5 apologized to viewers and said that CBS told them the problem related to sun spots causing problems with the satellite feed.

To work around the issue, networks temporarily use an alternate satellite during the outage period. Today's KU@MU game went over 30 minutes past the expected finish time, and apparently, CBS didn't have a backup plan in place.

This doesn't explain why St. Louis, Topeka, Oklahoma City, Dallas, etc. had the whole game, uninterrupted.
Also, the sunspots were conveniently timed exactly when the Michigan State-Michigan game started.

Re: Boycott CBS
It happens! Last week in Cincinnati, they left the Pitt @ Louisville game heading into OT for the start of the Indiana @ Ohio State game. Face it, the Big Ten is CBS' sacred cow in Men's B-Ball.

I hope they cut off the Kansas game in the NCAA tournament too. Maybe this time they won't have to watch their team lose to a mid major.

Re: Boycott CBS
i don't really care what cbs did to missouri or kansas...the game looked over to me with about 6 minutes left so i turned the channel. plus i love cbs' coverage of sports. i think they do the best job of any channel of their presentation of games. maybe i'm just fond of them because they cover march madness but still.

Re: Boycott CBS
I boycott CBS because of Katie Couric and the other predominance of intellectual shallowness in their so-called news department.
I will watch again if they put Charlie Sheen at the anchor desk.

AlaCyclone I don't like CBS's policy of cutting out the last part of a game for the start of another game. I imagine they do it because they want to keep Big 10 fans happy, but IMO it's disrespectful to the Big 12. Why even televise the game if you're going to cut away before the end?
IMO if the Big 10, Big East and Pac 10 could have it their way they'd divide up the Big 12 based on TV markets, like what partially happened last summer. Hopefully KU makes it into the Big 10 so this problem's solved. Until then I won't be watching CBS unless a KU tournament game is on. BTW congrats on hiring Hoiberg. Looks like his recruiting is way better than McDermott's which should be good for the KU - ISU rivalry.

Re: Boycott CBS
If you want to boycott a station employing Gus Johnson rigth before he goes into action, have at it. Me, I'm gonna listen to his golden voice calling close games. There's nothing better.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -

There's nothing better. There are certain recreational activities I would consider better than listening to a middle aged guy get all excited about a basketball game... I love the game, but the pxp and commentators I could do without...I watch most of the games on mute.
