How many wins to get to NIT

I don't believe that the NIT would ever take a last place team, regardless of their conference tournament wins

It's possible that two might do it, but probably requires 3.

The last-place thing is a huge consideration. It does make us a difficult sell.

With CU and Nebraska leaving the last place Big 12 team might be worthy of an NIT more often. Would be sad if they think of it that way and ignore non-conference results.

CU and Nebraska are both decent this year, but their average position during the life of the big 12 is 11th and 12th. There have been a lot of seasons the 10th team in the Big 12 was NIT worthy.

We'd have to make a run to the finals to even be in the conversation, even then I wouldn't be too confident. There are 2 or 3 teams in our own conference that would be taken over us unless some strange things happened in other conference tourneys. Cross your fingers that no mid majors are upset or that too many bubbles aren't burst.

we would need to win 3, most likely win it all, which would put us in the NCAA. Let's just go ahead and do that.

No chance, last place team with 3 conference wins is not going the see the NIT. Only postseason hopes would be to run the table in KC and a team with as thin of a bench as us is not going to be able to pull that off.

There are at least two projections that have us as an 8 seed in the NIT. I'm going to guess that those people just looked at our overall record and not our conference record.

People need to stop with the NIT thing. There is ZERO...I repeat ZERO chance a 3 win last place team is getting a look for the NIT.

It is NOT the NIT of old anymore.

This team has ONE postseason chance and that is the NCAA by winning the B12 Tournament.

People need to stop looking at the standings when looking at these things. I think the NIT would sure as hell take us over TT or OU. Not saying it's going to happen because it's not but it's not as easy as saying "were in last place, the NIT would never take us."
