Bell (Big 12 studio host/ESPN) was interviewed on 810 in KC this morning. He talked about the entire conference but had a few things to say about ISU.
- picks ISU as most likely upset winner in first round
- JVB is one of the most difficult matchups in the B12
- DG arguably the best PG in the B12
- B12 coaches told him throughout the season how hard ISU played and how difficult it was to beat them
- B12 coaches told him earlier in conference play that ISU would go on a little run at the end of the season
- Fred is well-respected by other B12 coaches
Also had some good things to say about Kemper Arena. I didn't realize he played for OSU for two years and played in Kemper in the B8 tournament.
I'd rather nobody was talking about ISU so they slip in under the radar.
You don't really think Doug Bell's statements will have any affect on how our future opponents in this tournament play against us, do you? We aren't going to slip under Colorado's radar any more or less based on what any analyst says.
Doug Bell gave a pretty accurate assessment of Iowa State. Not sure about the JVB reference though.
Say what you will about JVB's defense, but he creates a gigantic mismatch on the offensive end in every single game. The pick and pop with him and DG is lethal.

Hell yes! We need to take this thread down before any opposing coaches read it!
"Missouri is free to create an enduring basketball rivalry with Auburn."
I agree with all the comments. This team has the heart to hang with anyone, and the talent to beat them if a few things go their way (no injuries, foul trouble, etc).

No, it's more of a bad luck thing to me. When everyone starts talking about it, it doesn't happen.
I think we can beat Colorado on Wednesday, but we need to play better defense than we did the last two meetings. Can't count on us to shoot 70% in the 2nd half like we did against them at home last week.
