Either way you slice it, there will be plenty of scoring options on the court at all times. This will allow Scotty to do what he does best, which is set shooting from 3. I've heard from an inside source that Babb is just as good if not a better shooter than Scotty, so there will be times, when both are on the court and it will be virtually impossible to defend the 3. Allen is no slouch from 3 either, so I see us not dropping off in our outside shooting from this year. When you factor in a real post presence (not a make shift one that we had this year), matchups will usually be in our favor. The big question for next year, is can we defend much better than what we witnessed this year. I believe our depth and athleticism will be much improved, so we should see a big difference.
Defense and rebounding both need help for us to improve next year. I have never doubted SC's athletic abilities, but I wonder how tall he really is and what his wing span is. He doesn't look much bigger than Bubu. Maybe if Allen can defend the 3 and rebound, then Scott can start. SC would be better as a 20min/game player, starter or not.

Re: Scotty
If Scotty puts the time in to improve slightly his ballhandling, he will get better at his penetration/spin move/fadeaway. He can make that shot, but if he gets more comfortable putting the ball on the floor on the way there, I think he will be more in control when he leaves the floor to release it.
Also, if he could add a foot to his 3 pt range, he could really have a great year on offense.

Judging by what Fred has said, I think the starting line up will be
PG- Allen
SG- SC
SF- Ejim/Babb
PF- White
PF- Godfrey I don't have the statistics in front of me, but my sense is that Christopherson played really well prior to his injury and excelled against the largely inferior competition during the 13-2 run. After the injury and against the other conference guards, I would consider his play average. Based on what he produced offensively and gave up defensively, I would say he was roughly even to a net negative depending on the kind of shooting night he had. I should take a look a his conference-only statistics and get some facts to confirm or refute my opinion there, but that's my take.
Regarding the starting lineup, I think Booker stands an excellent chance to start alongside White in the front court. Looking foward to that battle because I think Godfrey learned a ton this year and really progressed.
Cheers

Cheers Not sure what you mean exactly by a "net negative" but Scott did score in double figures in 10 of 17 games, capped with 24 @ Colorado, 22 against K St, 17 against Baylor, 17 against Baylor, and so on...
yes, his ppg were not as good as in the non-conf, but show me a player who's stats don't dip...
also, check out his assists.... they're not bad. I'll post more later...

I'm happy to wrong on the numbers and would love to see the stats. Thanks in advance if you find them.

Re: Scotty
I'm going to guess we see a lot of different lineups next year.. depending on who we play and who's hot... It will be great having depth next year.

Re: Scotty
Scotty doesn't have to be a great dribble-drive guy to be very effective at driving. Every defender has to play him so tight, respecting his shooting, that he only has to be average at putting the ball on the floor to get a step on most defenders. A shot fake and go will get most defenders on their heals respecting his shot.
His on ball defense is his biggest weakness, he gets schooled on drives a lot. His off-ball defense needs some work, but has improved since last season and improved throughout this season.

Re: Scotty
I'm going to assume that he gets better working under Fred and this staff another year. Not to mention all the talent on the floor we didn't have this year, and the depth to keep all our guys fresh.

Re: Scotty
Without overanalyzing on specifics, if you have a roster with Scotty as a 6th/7th man ... you probably have a dangerous team.

Re: Scotty
A couple of things I think we all can agree on.
1. After playing here for 2 years and being a senior next year, Scotty is going to be a big part of the time next year. He's not our best 3 point shooter ever for no reason. Also, he's improved his game as far as driving (still has some work to do finishing) and he made some awesome passes to Calvin this year. The transfers will be great (I hope) but expirence in the Big 12 is priceless and those guys won't have it.
2. Scotty was probably never made to play 40 minutes in Big 12 play. I hope that next year he is averaging around 30 minutes per game. Think of how great he could be with fresh legs.
3. This is neither here nor there, but I couldn't listen to the radio post game on Wednesday. Just listened to it today, and holy **** there is nothing worse then listening to that kid after a loss. You could be in a great mood and after listening to him, you'd be depressed. He certainly hates to lose.
