at least we are now 1.6 microseconds closer to next season (not to take away from the seriousness of the earthquake)

Re: Article from Ames Tribune about MBB Next Year
Not sure I agree the NCAA tournament "should be a minimum goal". That's asking a lot from a group of players who haven't played a single game together and a 2nd year coach. I'd rather set the bar low and exceed expectations, but maybe that's just the Cyclone in me.

Will someone please clue me in?

At least in b-ball, with the talent and depth that we have, Fred, the team and fans should all expect at least a tourney invite, IMO.

It's time to raise the bar on Cyclone basketball expectations.

I'm not scared to be disappointed. What's the point in having unlofty expectations?
You really don't have to be that good to be an NCAA tournament team. I expect a bid if there aren't extenuating circumstances.

Re: Article from Ames Tribune about MBB Next Year
We're all pretty starved for a winning, NCAA tournament type of team next season. With that being written, this was our first non-losing season since 2005-06. I'm just wondering if it might be a little too much to go from being a complete afterthought to an NCAA team.

these guys aren't going to be new to each other. they have been teammates for a year now already.
how long does it take a team to mesh? i would think less then 1 season together, no?
