I think the selection committee is hypocritical. They say the conference affiliation doesn't mean anything, but then they knock down teams for their non-conference schedule.

They expanded the tourney and people are still *****ing. Might as well go to 96. Hell let's let everyone in.

I never remember complaining about the NCAA tournament once, but this year is an exception.

And, last post, I think the tourney should give the regular season champions for their respective conferences automatic berths into the tournament.

Some conferences dont deserve the 1 bid they get some years (based on top 64 or 68 best teams), much less giving them up to 2 auto-bids. Might be an option if the tourney expanded to top 96 or 128 though.

that would be a disaster..they couldnt even get the extra play-in games right. all play-in games should be for a 16 seed. not an 11 or 12 seed

Exactly why should an 11 seed from one region have to play their way in but some 12 form another doesnt? It doesnt make any sense just make the 16's all play in.

I'd like to see them go back to 64. The play in game was a joke and this is just a gimmick to get more teams in.

Yes, they definately had it right at 64! I just wish they left it at that.

That was the best setup. The idea that the play-in games are on whatever that small-time channel they're on should paint the picture that there isn't that much demand for them, either.

Definitely. It was a big scam to get another at large team in because the number of auto bids went up. I love March Madness, but if they go to 128 it would create horrible first round mismatches. 96 has some possibilities, but I still think it is way too many.

That's the name. I couldn't even remember.

But I'm pretty sure that it's not on the channel lineup for the apartment's cable TV package. So there will be tourney games that I miss, unless they put them online.

This is actually something I think they almost got right. A team that gets an auto bid should not be punished with a play in game. It is a joke, its like not even being in the tourney. I say make the last 8 large teams play the play in game.

Totally agree. If you get the auto bid, you've earned your shot at the actual tournament, not the play-in sham. Let the at-large teams that couldn't get enough done to get a higher seed have the play-in.

Didn't get to the thread until now, some I'm sure I'm repeating a few things:

1. Expanding the field really helped remove the bubble controversy, didn't it? (Pirate!, in case it wasn't obvious)

2. As soon as I knew UAB was in a play-in, and Texas got only a 4 seed, I knew Colorado was out.
