i don't remember the national media raving about him. i think we were excited about him because his signing meant we could start 5 guys. this isn't the last 5 years-these guys can play. they have been teammates for over a year now.

Jokes on them, I trademarked it years ago. I've been waiting 11 long years for a situation that finally lent itself to such an obvious cash cow. Guess I always assumed it would wind up branding a series of adult films or something, but basketball is good too...

Somehow, I doubt that's what the team would say. And I certainly hope they don't have the same defeatist attitude many of you on CF do.

    Re: Fab Four

From here on out they will be known as one entity...QUADZILLA!

Just makes things easier to write. For example. If we want a runnning lineup we just put in QUADZILLA and Ejim. If we want a shooting lineup we put in QUADZILLA and Scotty. If we want to leave scorched earth we put in QUADZILLA and Godfrey.

Our culture feeds on the failure of others. There's nothing we enjoy more than celebrating someone else's shortcomings. Look at the Fab 5, they had a remarkable run and by the end of their sophomore years, they were 10-2 in the NCAA tourney. That's a great performance, yet many people react to them by saying "all show, no substance" or "never won a title" or "never even won a conference championship" or "thugs".

I'm really excited for next year, but our new guys haven't won a game yet. I don't think any of them have ever averaged double figures in college. It's not fair to them to label them the Fab 4 or anything else. Who needs that unnecessary pressure? There will be pressure enough.

    Undersell. Overperform.

Take it a step further and go with "Trans4mers" so we can start doling out individual nicknames like "Roycimus Prime".

You forgot "took money to play".

    Re: Fab Four

Kind of corny but how about:

The Transfourmers; they were sent here to Ames from a distant planet, to transfourm our program into a national title contenders....

    I WAS THERE!!!!!!
