Maybe we hold on to beat Neb after we have that road losing streak off our back to get to 9-7.) Just plain ridiculous that they left that 3 on the board. Then, KU hit a 3 to send it to overtime and the guy's foot was like 10 inches across the 3-pt line.
MSU in the Elite 8 hurt the worst, but that game at KU in Wayne's 1st year was the biggest screw job ever.

I'm over the MSU loss, but for KU to get a basket between FTs and it counts! Definition of screw job was this game.

First off, they didn't label a "#1 overall seed" until 2002, which was 2 years later, so the "that means the committee thought that ISU was the #4 #2 seed" is a bull**** argument, one I'm sick of hearing about. Second, they only "guarantee protection" for high seeds into the Sweet Sixteen - which means the committee "protected" us by allowing us to play our first and second round games in Minneapolis, just a few hours up the road. Did it suck playing Michigan St in Detroit? Yeah, but it's not like (if seeding held to chalk) that we would have had to play Duke in Syracuse or Arizona in Albuquerque. Those wouldn't exactly have been "ISU-friendly" environments, either.
Did ISU deserve a #1 seed in 2000? Quite arguably. But the tournament committee didn't screw us by making us the #2 seed in the Midwest - they protected our #2 seed as much as they would protect ANY #2 seed...

Stop talking about the blarge, nothing compares to the free 3-pointer that KU got.

Re: Worst Screw Job I.S.U. Ever Got?
What about that TD Blythe totally scored against KU in FB? That was a nice kick in the nuts again by Big 12 refs.

Re: Worst Screw Job I.S.U. Ever Got?
I still don't understand how a 29-4 team who won not only the Big 12 regular but ALSO the tournament....could get not only a 2 seed but the WORST 2 seed.
How was that ever explained? I was told it was so they could play their frist round in Minneapolis.....
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

Both replays on TDs were overturned against us, and both didn't have much for video evidence. I think the KU TD on the QB sneak was worse than the Blythe TD... on the field they said we stopped them, on the video you could see nothing but a pile of bodies and not the ball, and they reversed it?
Not surprisinglly, KU winning that game allowed the Big 12 to fill all their bowl slots and add some money to the conference coffers. I expected we'd get screwed that game, kinda like the time KU was blatantly hosed against Texas in order to get them into a BCS game (the year before they won the title with Vince Young). The refs called the worst Offensive PI I've ever seen against Charles Gordon (who did not even make contact with the Dback) on what would have been the game ending 1st down, in order to keep Texas' chances alive. This sparked Fat Mangino's great "Dollar Signs" rant, and he was right.

We did get screwed, but pretty sure Michigan St. was not the overall #1 and us the last 2. MSU had about 7 losses going into the tournament. The committee really messed up giving the Pac 10 two #1 seeds and having them both get knocked out in the second round. MSU should never have been a 1 and in that bracket anyway.

Arkansas scoring the winning touchdown with twelve men on the field. Earle Bruce was the coach. It was the first ISU road game I ever went to.

Re: Worst Screw Job I.S.U. Ever Got?
Way down the list but it looked to me like Garrett did NOT foul Burks on that 3 pointer near the end of the tourney game this year.
The KU 3 was a borderline criminal offense.

Actually...I hate to be the voice of reason...but go pick up your rule book (all fans have one, right?) and look up the definition of "correctable error."
That said, it was a royal zebra f-up and screw job.
