Last second shots:

Anyone esle think that there has been alot of games in the NCAA, and NIT last night, that while holding the ball for the last shot, the team waits too long to get a shot off? I realize that they don't want the opponent to have time to go coast to coast. But 5-6 seconds has burnt a lot of teams, that may have been able to get a decent second shot off of the rebound.

If the game is tied and you are going for the win, maybe 6 seconds is ok. But if you are down, 9-10 seconds seems like a better option.

IMO, if you're down you should go as quickly as possible in case you don't score and need to foul. Obviously the Moorehead State coach disagrees and it worked out for him.

In a tie game or end of the half scenario with the shot clock off, starting with about 6-7 seconds left (assuming that the offense is relying on penetration and perhaps one pass) should be about right.

After watching us this year, go right away.
