Did they really say that Napier is Will Blalock's younger bother??
That's what they said! I didn't know that.
Blalock
News to me.
Nope, Nantz was just throwing out some bs to fill some dead time.
I don't think McDermott went after him at all.
You mean Will Blalock?
Who is the other guy
Blalock & Napier article:
Shabazz Napier had help along the way - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN
I believe he was "like" a brother is what I gathered from the article.

Quote:
Shabazz Bozie Napier... Born July 14, 1991... Son of Carmen Velasquez... Has two siblings, Timmie Barrows and Titana Velasquez.

Napier said he would spend the next few months working out with his "brothers" Steve Hailey and Will Blalock. Hailey (Boston College) and Blalock (Iowa State) are former college stars from the Boston area whom Napier says he has known for most of his life.

It is actually a really cool story....
Sounds like they refer to eachother as "brothers". Will was a guardian and mentor for Shabazz who took him under his wing. Really cool story and says a lot about Will...
I believe they are half-brothers. Same mother.
Great Story. I knew the story before, but was suprised CBS gave ISU and Will some love and even metioned the story.
On another note. It blows my mind that people claim that kids leaving early for NBA hurts College basketball, but those same people root against the best player in Kemba and pulled for Butler in this game. Seems counter-productive to me. If you want the best players to stay, it makes sense to pull for them to win the Nat'l title. Especially when those kids embrace all that is the student athlete and graduate in 3 years. Kemba is class and not just some thug that comes thru NCAA Basketball. Kemba is good for the college game.
