Just wondering why you call it a welcome change?

Fred may yet work his magic and keep Bobby around.

That's a big NO. Lutz wouldn't do that.

Lutz wouldn't do what? I think Bobby is a very classy guy. Have you seen him make a statement yet saying he has taken the job? I know it's a long shot, but I'm not saying it's done.

True. Whatever he initially may have decided. I would welcome a change of heart.

Lutz is gone. You don't get this much smoke without a fire burning.

Most of the time, assistants don't make a big statement saying they left. Remember when DRob left for Houston?

Re: Sources: Bobby Lutz to N.C. State

Everyone knew that he was going to be gone, most just figured it would be 2-3 years as expected. However, I'm sure Lutz and most of us also didn't expect an NC State opening at the end of year 1.

It is good for Coach Lutz, he gets to be closer to his family and his 'home' all while continuing to coach... And, in a way it could be good for CFH too. It seemed like there was always the mention of Lutz (for good reason I suppose) when talking about the coaching, perhaps this will be able to shine some light on CFH as a solid coach as well w/o the need of a 'crutch' if you will.

Good point. This coming season will be all Freddie......no doubt about a man behind the curtain.

I wonder if he could just wait a few years till the new coach at NC State gets fired, and then move into the head coach spot?

it a welcome change that coaches are leaving and not players.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

Bad assumption to make. There are three factors working as to why Bobby is going to NC State. One, Gottfried is a long-time friend. Two, Bobby's family is in NC. Three, I'm under the impression Bobby has a parent in NC who is in poor health. Bobby values friends and family so it makes sense why he left.

My thoughts are that it's better to have had ONE season with Lutz, than NONE at all.

    Agree with both statement totally!

This could also be good from the view if he find another good gray hair to teach him a few more tricks from a different perspective, CFH will be more diverse coach and a better leader (even though CFH has already proven his ability to lead a program)
