Sources: Bobby Lutz to N.C. State
Two quality sources are telling me that Bobby Lutz will accept an assistant coaching position under Mark Gottfried at N.C. State. More info coming.
The main reason is family. Lutz LOVED it in Ames. He loved working with Fred Hoiberg's staff. But his entire family is in North Carolina. Lutz's daughter will be attending N.C. State next year and Mark Gottfried has been a close from of his for nearly 20 years.
I will add this: I've heard rumblings on what Hoiberg wants to to with his staff and it sounds encouraging. Nothing solid enough for me to put to print right now. Stay tuned.

That's too bad. I wish he could have seen his scout team through, but it's understandable.

Too bad. From all accounts, Lutz was a great fit last season.
I hope Fred Hoiberg tries to hit a home-run and at least talks to Norm Roberts.

As good as CFH is at collecting people cant wait to see who his next 2 assistants are.

This tempers my expectations for next season. Basically replacing half the coaching staff. Not good.
Torn on how I feel about things. On one hand, he has family there, on the other Hoiberg asked him for a 2 or 3 year commitment.
