I would love to see this guy as a Cyclone assistant if he doesn't get a head job! He is a great recruiter and has ties in the Detroit area.
(Sorry i didn't see the other thread can some one merge or delete this thread?)

Would love to see this as well. Might as well get more Michigan State ties on this team.
if we are going to hire a coach to bring in a player, I rather have a big shot blocker with a couple years left to play.
I don't know that Boylen would be hired for that reason. It might be a nice bonus, but he would be hired because he was a fairly successful head coach who could fill the role that Lutz did. Although, I doubt as well as Lutz did.
Boylen is a former HC, plus had assistant experience at Mich State and the NBA. I don't think we'd hire him just to get a transfer, although that would certainly be a nice side benefit.
Obviously we'd be lucky to get Boylen with or without Clyburn.
I almost think Keno Davis would be just as good as Boylen. ISU plays an up-tempo game and Keno has actually recruited Michigan quite well even at Providence. Its not as ridiculous as you think...
I don't really have a whole lot of desire to get Keno. I'm not sure why.
But I don't think he would help with in-state recruiting. And I think we need someone with more expirence then he has.
I'm all in the Keno idea. Never hurts to have some good iowa connections and another good coach sittin next to fred
We have two slots open, don't we? How about both?
Part of me is wishing this had happened a week earlier so we could have had a shot at Jeff Capel.
I'm lost. I think the notion that Fred would hire Boylen to get Clyburn is a complete fail. Hiring Boylen to be an assistant wouldn't be a fail. Well, it could be, but I don't know enough about him to say.
