Re: Will Hoiberg let us forget the pain next year?

I haven't come close to reading this entire thread, but I have read enough to know I feel the need to say this:

We were, without a doubt, much better off with Morgan than McDermott.

What a delusional life you must live, if you have no clue the damage that WM did to the program.

Wow, what an *** you are.

Can you even read? Where did I say that Wayne did a great job? I didn't. I SAID, and we'll try this again, that at a time when we were a LAUGHINGSTOCK of college athletics, he came in and kept this thing afloat.

Now, and I love this, people like to throw out innuendo about all of the illegalities that WM committed, but then they NEVER seem to offer ANY proof.

And if you don't think that chewey seriously damaged a pretty good job, then I would offer that YOU are the one that is delusional.

Re: Will Hoiberg let us forget the pain next year?

I really do hope that Hoiberg will work out and have ISU playing for titles year in and year out in the Conference and many deep NCAA Tourney runs. The high level recruits that he has already brought in should be a first sign indicator that this program is ready to turn the corner, for the better. Yes, we have plenty of transfers...but Hoiberg understands that our program was in the gutter because of that horrible coach that we had before him. (I'm never typing his name again.) Thus, these are the actions we NEED to take, and CFH understood this better than anyone. Again, we will have to wait and see this team take care of business next season....and I do believe this next season will be a great one in which our Cyclones will again be in the top half of the conference and possibly playing to win another B12 title.

So yes, in a way....I think Cyclone Nation has endured some very "trying" times in the past 5-6 years or so. We are a proud fanbase that continues to support this program which is supported by our attendance numbers, etc... we deserve a winner, and Hoiberg is just that. He is a well respected figure in the world of basketball. He is respected at the next level as well, which really says something to our recruits. But the thing is, Hoiberg RESPECTS Iowa State University and the Ames community. He is our BEST champion and it can help make ISU and Ames an easy sell. (The biggest sports/alum figure in ISU history) I think the "PAIN" might just be a blessing all these years if it allowed Hoiberg to "come back to us" here @ ISU. I think the best is yet to come. (I look for Hoiberg to be our "Coach K" and lead us for many-many years.) The guy is a winner, and ISU WILL be a major player in College basketball NEXT year and for years to come.
