    i think its fair to have an appreciation of all the great talent from michigan that has landed at iowa state. its also fair to recognize that the population of detroit is down 25% in the last decade. (some of it is migration to the suburbs, I realize that).

    i expect ISU to be a player for all the top talent in IA, MN, WI, MI, and NYC. plenty of available talent in those states....and plenty of competition as well.

    That is why your an Idiot and Fred and Cornell are cool dudes who are going to be great coaches. Very Nice work Mr. Hoiberg. Mich and NY are great places to recruit bball players very nice.

    Its known that Cornell Mann being from Michigan has recruiting ties...

    I have a hard time believing that while at Dayton, he didn't create any ties in Ohio/ Cincinnati. Maybe even Indiana. Not bad region as a whole. This is not just "dried up ole' Detroit"

    Now this is secondary if not even tertiary, bu the other thing to be happy with, is that we now have a minority coach. In a Lilly-white state like Iowa, it can't hurt...

    Michigan recruiting is one of the most fertile recruiting in the Country. The Cyclone basketball program was built in Flint, Michigan

    Barry Stevens
    Jeff Grayer.

    Do those names ring a bell. If they don't then you should go back to the college team you prefer.
