This was my immediate thought as well. If he can't tread lightly immediately after getting this gig, I don't know how I could trust him if I were Fred.

your intolerance appears to based on the timing of the mistake. not the mistake itself. I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all. -

your intolerance is intolerable.
I think "go now and sin no more" is appropriate in this case.

It isn't curable and this is a pretty extreme case. It isn't about the fact he had some beers or that he chose to drive or that he could have killed someone. It is about the fact that he just got a big gig and is STUPID.

When my child is born will you baptise him?

Mann deserves some silent treatment. The kind of silent treatment that I get when I'm the doghouse at home. Let him figure out his own punishment. Once he figures it out kick him in the nads.

Re: Cornell Mann arrested for OWI in Dayton, OH Tuesday
For me, this doesn't come down to morality or virtues. It comes down to how he is looked at by not only players and recruits but possibly parents. I just wonder how those people will look at them. I don't know how he'll be received. Will parents look at this as a huge obstacle? Will he even be recruiting much? I mean we have TJ and MA out there now so how important will be as a recruiter. I think Fred needs to weigh everything. Look at what he will be doing. If he's going to be a guy doing more in terms of Xs and Os and less on the recruiting trail, then maybe you keep him. If he is going to be an important part of recruiting, perhaps not. I don't really know the answer.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

Suppose you are in charge of "somewhere that serves kids" and you ask a candidate how they feel about drinking and driving and their ability to do their job, and they respond:
It is not a big deal, "Kids won't see it (in another paper, and wouldn't be reported locally)"
Do you think this is the best person for the job?

Re: Cornell Mann arrested for OWI in Dayton, OH Tuesday
interesting opinions from everyone. i can see why its so difficult for states to legislate laws/punishments for OWI.
i googled a few BAC "calculators" - turns out a 240lb man has to drink >10 beers in an hour just to get to 0.16. no idea if they're accurate but yikes!
