Once Mann came on board, the primary recruiting focus may have shifted to Percy Gibson instead of Olu. And as long there was only one schollie available, the focus definitely was not on Henton.
Also, I have no idea how good White and Booker are going to be but if Olu thought he was going to get only 20 minutes or so at ISU, he wasn't coming for just one season.

Re: Olu Ashaolu
My sources are telling me the same thing this afternoon. Not going to happen for ISU. Percy Gibson is now ISU's top target.

Re: Olu Ashaolu
I'm pretty sure May 18th is last day of the spring signing period, correct?

Any info. on a potential visit by Gibson? I thought he wanted to stay relatively close to home.

Yeah...I really hope we bring in one more guy. Gibson would be great, but not getting my hopes up.

Re: Olu Ashaolu
Hold on a second. I hate to speculate on this stuff but earlier in the thread, a poster claimed he asked Olu about ISU and his brother said we weren't in the running. Now, I realize that sometimes things work like this on the up and up but doesn't that just scream violations? I mean it just sounds like his brother is taking bids and we didn't bid. Obviously that's complete speculation from me, who probably is reading too much into this but that just seems like an odd way to handle recruiting.

I don't see a violation and I don't think it's odd either. I'm not sure where your bid theory came from.

thanks Chris. Sometimes I ask myself why I even come here the very few times I do when I am told I am a &*%$^!
Oh well, I guess if people see that not much was ever attributed to an ISU source about Olu being seriously courted it might be clearer. Once again just my opinion.
I also think Henton was just a window shop look as we bide our time getting our new staff in order.
Once again IMO Chris so you might add your 2 cents. Thx

I just think it's odd that Olu was asked and then said, something like, "My brother said they're not in the running anymore." I don't know if I have ever heard someone say something like that where, seemingly, he has nothing to do with where he's going.

I read it again and I could be wrong, but it sounds to me like gocubs2118 asked the RecruitScoop guy and he told him Olu's brother said we weren't in the running.

If it happened the way you say it then it is weird. I thought his brother told somebody that we were out of the running as if it came from Olu originally.

I think gocubs meant that he asked the hoopsrecruit guy, not Olu. For some reason I just expected he had asked Olu.

Re: Olu Ashaolu
john ashaolu is the director of basketball ops at east carolina univ, so calling him a "handler" like he's some agent's runner is a little disrespectful.
