Re: BASKETBALL RECRUITING: Percy Gibson visiting this weekend
So it doesn't sound like we will know anything until he looks at all the schools? If that is the case, I would rather be the last visit. I wonder if the weather impacts a recruits impression or his experience. It was pretty lousy this weekend for May. For a lot of people 75 and sunny is a mood enhancer and affects their experience.

I think there may be an issue with him taking all of his visits because the period where he is allowed to take officials is almost up or something.

To say its a Light load is rather naive considering to graduate on time with a BS in Architecture it requires a minimum of 5 years - 1 year pre-acceptance and then apply to the program. After that the requirements are 4 years of studio and 18 credits a semester minimum with some semesters forced classes in the 21 credit range. When i went through the program there were 271 applicants for 68 positions.
So - no disrespect to the Vet school as i know it has the credentials, but i do not know what the requirements are like because i didnt major in it....but the architecture school is demanding of time more then anything. You have to be able to withstand harsh personel attacks from instructors that truely challenge the individuals to think outside the box. This is something that you cannot read in a book and test on, its a cognitive thinking that is not necessarily what many expect when entering architecture school.
If the man wants to go to Architecture school i wish him the very best luck. But then again, you do not become the talent he is on the court without being a committed young man....so i say he sure can do it if he puts his mind to it, and is willing to sacrifice almost every minute of his free time - GOOD LUCK YOUNG MAN!!!

Re: BASKETBALL RECRUITING: Percy Gibson visiting this weekend
The salary for architecture must be outstanding for people to put so much time into it. I've known people in that program and they have basically no free time to speak of with all the studio work.

As most of my professors told me...you don't go to architecture school for the money. It is one of the worst salaries of all professional degrees.

Re: BASKETBALL RECRUITING: Percy Gibson visiting this weekend
I think Percy has 3 more visits that he "can" take but I don't think he will have time to actually do them; assuming he is going to sign this spring which he has said he'd like to do. I think perhaps he could take 1 more or even 2. MSU doesn't really count because he is already familiar with the campus; they didn't offer before but now are in the running. So I think it is between us, MSU and 1 other. Could be 2 others but it'd be in a rush. So I think our chances are still very good. I'm disappointed that he didn't sign this weekend; was really hoping he'd commit and cancel the other visit(s). I hope the weather wasn't a factor but it might have been.

I think we are Plan B, he likes everything about us we just aren't MSU. He saw what he needed to and now he'll go to Izzo and see how he fits in. I think it will come down to whether or not he buys into what we have to offer or is willing to wait inline at MSU. I think in the future these sells will become easier after the transfers have logged a season on the court.

well at least there is a couple of former MSU kids in our program that can sell him on how Hoiberg's program is a good alternative to the MSU program.

Let's think about this. As a '11 senior, he can sign any time up until August, when school starts. The LOI just isn't binding (to him) after the end of May.

You should read the article posted near the front of this post. It says there that he wants to enroll in June classes. That is what is going to contract the time-frame for this decision, not the end of the signing period.

The latest update for him had his final four as ISU, Dayton, GA Tech, and VA Tech.
