It was super windy and snowing the day I visited. Hard to focus on viewing the campus for what it is on such a miserable day. As a student, when you visit a school, you go there to 'see' it, all of the talk about the available programs and academic help are boring info that you don't care about until you actually use it once you are already attending.
I'll admit I went to Iowa State on a nice day and got to see and enjoy how great the campus is.
Funny thing now... is that I now live in Brookings, SD for work. So I get to see the town and campus for what it really is, besides just a super cold, snowy and windy place. It's still not as great as Iowa State, but it's way better than the impression I got from my visit.
This is my sarcasm pirate. There are many like it but this one is mine. -

Percy could hear from a player perspective too about our program. Bubu will show him all the goods things Ames can offer.

Dear god does anyone have any updates on Percy, thoughts on his visit, etc?
Or is this an entirely different thread?

The signing period is over May 18th. Doesn't he have to commit by Wednesday to a school? When does he have time to visit 2 or 3 other schools?

The signing period isn't over. There is a recruiting dead period from the 18th until the end of May, but a '11 recruit can sign any time until classes start.

That is true. In one (the only one?) article, Percy is quoted as saying he wants to make a decision and get enrolled in June classes.

So you are saying that a high school kid can sign on august 19 of this year and play this year? Pretty sure there are certain periods when they can sign. They can verbally commit anytime but have to sign during periods. Unless they are a transfer which Gibson is not a transfer even though at one point he was committed to another school. 2011-12 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Signing Dates -

After the signing period, it is about signing the financial-aid agreements, which can iirc happen on August 19th.

It can happen after school starts next fall for that matter.
