Coach suspended in 2009?

This almost has to be related to LaRon Dendy. Who was suspended?

Sorry, it says the purchase/violation occurred in 2009, and the 2-game suspension was last year.

It does seem like a fittingly minor penalty for something like this. It's good that it didn't turn into something that mattered.

This had to do with the whole mess of him not catching his flight (which was ok'd by the NCAA to be paid for). Because of the chance in dates, it was no longer covered under the funeral policy.

Read the article - it says the infraction happened in June 2009. The Dendy funeral fiasco occurred sometime during the spring 2010 semester.

Yes. Unless you can suspend Rutter as DOBO. That would seem toothless, but this thing should be toothless.

Wasn't Rutter an assistant then? I can't recall if he is still around or not... I thought he took more of an administrative position within the program? I could be wrong on that.

What I find interesting is how JP kept this whole thing hush until now. Shouldn't the NCAA have a rule that all infractions should be made public. This would hurt more than suspending a assistant for two snoozer non conference games.
