Niang highlight reel.
He's not terribly athletic but he has the scoring gene like Zach Randolph. It leaves his hand and it's going in. Looks ambidextrious(sp) as well...tough to guard.

Damn you! I was just about to post this!
Does not jump out of the gym (as scouts have implied) but the dude is a technician of body position. Brains over braun for this guy.
I'll be interested to see what the staff will work on with him. He seems to have all the post moves mastered. (again, as scouting reports have stated). Sorry - I bring nothing new...

Skills and brains...love it!

Re: Niang highlight reel.
It sounds like he is all about production. He may not be a top shelf athlete, but I'll take a producer over a Rashawn Clark anyday. That's nothing against Clark, but you can make a living in sports purely off production even if you're not a great athlete.

Re: Niang highlight reel.
Hopefully these post moves will transfer over well to the Big 12.
Trying to think of a recent ISU recruit or any player in particular that he reminds me of. Maybe a better polished version of a Cory Johnson with a better outside shot? Little worried about the lack of athleticism, but going to have to trust Fred and the other BCS schools that offered that they know what they are doing.

Fantastic use of the left hand!

Luke Harangody with a better looking shot.

Re: Niang highlight reel.
It will be interesting to see how he translates to B12 but he's got moves that many never have as a senior in college.

Re: Niang highlight reel.
Thanks for posting! Looks like a tough kid. Get him on the same weight program as Booker and White and he will be a beast. He uses his body position well. Jason Smith (the Coach at Brewster) said that Niang was a high major prospect and couldn't understand why he didn't have more interest and respect. Great get for us. I rubbed it in to one of my Hawk buddies and he replied,"We didn't really want him that bad anyway because we are going to get Gisell and Woodbury!" Typical Hawk fan. I hope they commit elsewhere. Can't wait to see him in a Cyclone uniform. I hope he blows up again in prep school like he did last year.

He uses his body very well, but it will need to be built up to keep that kind of positioning in college. The staff will likely be able to strengthen those legs somewhat as well,so he can play a little more above the rim, but I wouldn't expect miracles. Still, athletic potential never worked out for McKnight. I just hope we don't have another Corey Johnson here.

This guy is going to be a SR in HS next year so all of the highlights are from his JR year or lower. For a junior in HS he has some of the best moves I've ever seen. There is also a chance he could get a little bigger too because he's young. If he could gain an inch or 2, that game would translate very well to the B12 IMO. Someone mentioned Luke Harangody and if he grows a little I could definitely see that comparison.

I hope they get Gessell. I'm not high on him at the high major level.

If Fred really gets this thing rolling, guys like Niang, Sledge, Gibson may be the depth of future teams.
