Isn't there another hot shot shooter from Lacrosse about the same age that goes to Scotty's school that Fred is looking at?

Bronson Koenig, if he leaves the state it will be for North Carolina or Kansas, IMO. Roy Williams has moved into Wisky now, taking JP Tokoto out of the 2012 class and offering Koening for 2013

As we know, it's not good when Roy starts recruiting your state.

By the time they are seniors, the stock for the still-growing Thomas could approach or exceed that of Koenig.

He plays in the 16 and under division, but my guess is he's pretty close to turning 17, as he is easily 6'2" and 195 lbs. I see a lot of 16 and under AAU games and he bigger than most kids. His Wisconsin Playmakers team lost in the championship game to Meanstreats of Chicago by two points, and the Meanstreets have 4+ DI recruits playing for them.
Other than that, a very smart player with a smooth and quick release. Lots of talk that other schools will be in on him soon, so I like that TJ made the first offer. Wouldn't be disappointed to see him in a Cyclone uniform at all...

Highly unlikely. You really think Thomas is going to get offers from UNC, Kansas, UCLA, Wisconsin, Virginia etc like Koenig? There is a reason there are so many for him and there is separation between him and Thomas. Overall Skill package, athleticism and incredible passing skills and other intangibles give Koenig a great edge. Dropping stock? Is this wishful thinking because it ain't happening.

Koenig's rank amongst 2013 players appeared to drop some with the latest rankings I saw but those rankings are obviously a shot in the dark for that class at this point. Time will tell if that trend continues. I did not say Thomas was a better prospect at this point nor will he be but I would not surprised if the current ranking gap between the two of them is significantly closed by the time they leave HS.

Either way, i am more than happy to have this kid be a replacement for scotty. 2-3 years from now were going to need a couple new sharp shooters...

There are different recruiting rankings for different org.'s ESPN came out with the super 60, ranked Koenig at 47th overall in 2013 and 7th for PG......I think it was rival that has Koenig at 66 player overall in his class...These basically are the first rankings and he will probably climb after July. I do not see anywhere that he 'dropped' in ranking.Thomas is a 2 guard, a shooting guard, who at this point will be a role player at the next level unless he becomes quicker and has more skill than at present. But he is an excellent shooter when open but has some trouble making space with more athletic players. Koenig can shoot and make space- I just don't see what you are saying as I have seen both play plenty of times. But the unknown is still out there.
