USC is looking for a guarantee game on Sunday, November 13th.
Very good compensation, easy travel to LA, can secure an early start time to get your team back home that same night. We lose 4 starters for the 2nd year in a row and 70% of our scoring.
ISU should take that. Pocket the check, enjoy a nice little trip to LA and beat the crap out of USC. Win-win-win.
You guys are talking like these guys need to have some secret roladex to schedule a basketball game. You can go to iastate.edu and look up jeff rutter on the e-mail/phone number search just like everyone else at ISU. Turns out a person in a position that needs to be contacted for events and scheduling doesn't make it impossible to find their contact information.
New Mmexico really took it down to the wire with scheduling. Posted on 10/15:
We are now looking to schedule games for the 2011-12 season. By the grace of God, we completed our schedule a couple of weeks ago. I just wanted to say thanks to all coaches whom I had the privilege of communicating with during this year's scheduling process. I am sure that I will be tracking down all of you shortly for next season. Good luck this season!!
I wouldn't mind playing Nebraska but no way to Colorado...I want to put all of our bad memories in Boulder in the rear view mirror
I wouldn't want either one. I wouldn't mind maintaining it from rivalry standpoint (especially with Nebraska — a low-travel home-and-home — and it seems to be the only ex-Big Team ISU could beat 3 of 4 years w/ a home-and-home) ... but neither CU nor NU has promise as a resume-booster.
I suppose that could change. But if we're seeking Power 6, I'd prefer mid-level teams with some pattern of success (either in big picture or recently).
