Okoro picks up Dayton offer
Twitter
After releasing his top 3 (Pitt, Seton Hall, ISU) Dayton's new staff jumps in the mix.
Don't think this hurts our chances.
"Freddie knows the game," Bird said. "I'm sure he picked up a lot of stuff over the years from different people. College is different from the NBA, but I'm sure he'll do a great job." -

Re: Okoro picks up Dayton offer
I sure hope Okoro can see almost immediate playing time if he chooses ISU. Maybe not starting, but he will sure get some minutes.
I WAS THERE!!!!!! -
Re: Okoro picks up Dayton offer
It looks like McGee will be a SR and so will Babb but its hard to say what position either of those guys will be at next year until we see how they are used this season.

Dayton doesn't pose much of a threat.

Re: Okoro picks up Dayton offer
This is probably just a rebuttal after taking Percy Gibson.

If there was not some semblance of reciprocal interest on Okoro's part with their new staff, Dayton probably would not have bothered to offer him. Dayton's new staff does have strong ties to the NYC area.

Good news is that after that both are gone as both are seniors. So he sits a year, learns from the seniors, and starts the next year. If he is smart he should see upside to that. Unfortunately, at that age waiting a year for your turn seems like a long time if he could be playing lots somewhere else (dayton). It is what it is.

Re: Okoro picks up Dayton offer
He can choose to be a star in the Big 12 and play against some of the nations best teams or he can choose to play in the ....... league. I don't think Dayton has a shot, especially this late in the game. He's already cut his list to 3 teams and let's be honest, it wasn't Duke that just threw their hat in the ring.

Re: Okoro picks up Dayton offer
I don't think Dayton has much of a shot either. Not because we're so much better than them because in fact Dayton has been a much better basketball program than us over the last 8 years or so.
I just don't think that Dayton will have much of a shot because they've offered him so late. He's already named his top 3. Although, they may have offered if they've discovered that Okoro has shown them some interest?
I would never sleep on Dayton. They've gotten better recruits than us for quite a while now. I just hope that Fred's built enough of a relationship with Okoro already that Dayton will be hard pressed to match.

I don't think he'll take a flyer on Dayton, but maybe that's just me.
