I'm not an insider, but I bet this is just talking about Niang joining Will Clyburn and Royce White in the future, which is a pretty good frontcourt, potentially.

You two hit it on the head. Nothing special in the article, just talking about what we already know.

It's "insider info" for a basketball fan with no connections to Iowa State or the Big 12.

How the hell is FH doing this? It's simply impressive, kudos to Fred and his staff for going after the big-time recruits with a little swagger.

    Re: Nation's best frontcourt?

Really looking forward to what these players can accomplish on the court. A lot of talk has been made already, and none of these guys(White, Booker, Niang, Clyburn, Gibson) have played 1 minute for ISU, with the exception of Railey and Ejim. Coach Hoiberg could really be on the verge of something if these guys can mesh together as a team and have the guards to go with them.
    Go Cyclones!!

    Re: Nation's best frontcourt?

historically, we have had some teams with little to no d-1 experience that made the NCAA tournament. Hoiberg's freshmen year the only returning starter was Thigpe. In 1995/96 there were zero full time starters. Jaccy C was a part timer. That team won the Big Conference tournament title and made it to the second round. The 1999/2000 team had two players starting with zero D-1 experience and we all know what they did.
