1.) Friends -- we met in Vet school
2.) I introduced him to CF, and told him my screen name. He hasn't posted until recently. As far as showing up, it is a coincidence. I don't know how this works, but if the moderator can give you some peace of mind, we are two different people.
I will raise the stakes. The bet: 1 case of Corona to the winner(s) for each home game and the loser has to cut the limes :-)

As you can read from the OP, it was all first person. Lesson learned on how to appropriately title posts here.

No worries dude, honestly we hung out the other night and he told me his screen name and today I had a chance to sign up and start posting. Then I saw he was under attack and helped my boy out. Anyway friends since Vet school. He just moved back to the state recently. We got quarters thrown at us at the ISU Iowa game when Scottie C was performing a laparotomy (aka gutting) on the Hawk fans in IC and we were high fiving.

But back on to the topic. What do you think are the expectations that the team has set for themselves? I would have to believe that they want to make the tournament has badly as any one, and I am willing to wager that this team is the hungriest team in the Big XII. There are five players that had to sit a year, with one of them being, and it was painful for them to watch on the sidelines as last year's team had so many close loses. Then you have a coach who is back at his alma mater who wants to bring greatness back to his hometown and this university. And then there are the fans. This fan base has been craving a winner and so desperately wants the Magic to be back. So what's wrong with having expectations when they are the same expectations that this team has for themselves? Expectations is just another word for goals. -
Re: Tempering our Expectations
The main four played together all last season, and they were better than our starting team in practice. Minus those four, the players returning are all better than they were last year also. Not to mention they all get to take a trip to Italy together to jumpstart the season before it even starts.
Anything less than a NCAA appearance is a disappointment. The next years team as it stands now should be even better and should at least win a few games in the tourney(things can change though between now and then). To become a national powerhouse Fred will really have to take advantage of these two seasons and land some big time recruits. Niang was a great start to this. I actually like Okoro and Sledge a lot too... they appear to be steals without actually seeing them on the court yet. Plus unlike most years, they don't have to play a lot right away and have time to develop because we actually have a talented team with depth.
ISU is on the rise, for sure. Obviously there can be some injuries and things can change by the end of the year, but as things are going right now.. we should be playing in March.

Expectations is just another word for goals. Great take. All I was saying is that my goals needed to be toned down a little. I caught myself thinking if this team doesn't get to the tourney this year is a failure. After so many years of emasculation of the MBB program, I think finishing with a .500 or above conference record and preferably in the middle to upper tier of the conference should be considered a good goal / expectation. If this gets us to the NCAA tourney great, if not, I think it still should be considered a success. In year two of this project, we should see progress. If other people's expectations are higher that is great, but I just want to see progress. I wanted this to a program where there is no debate if we get into the tourney it is just what seed we will be.

Re: Tempering our Expectations
We will be the best in years. DG will be replaced. Everyone will be shooting bombs and the other team better tighten up their laces as we will be running like a moose is chasing us. NCAA or bust.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Prospect
Re: Tempering our Expectations
This team is just too stacked. Hoenstly, i would be a bit dissipointed with the NIT, like must of us should be. This team has NCAA talent. Plain and simple. I expect a tourny bid.
