I've been disappointed plenty in my life by more important things than a basketball team. Not too worried about that.

That's why I played it on the low end.

I could see something like 24-7 (and would like it very much), but can't bring myself to predict that.

I don't think anyone expects it this year. But they've been a top 3 team, four of the last five seasons. With the tournament being such a crapshoot, that's about all reasonable fans can ask for. Your point?

And we're being reasonable when we say we expect to make it to the NCAA's this year. We've got the talent to, and the coach to.

Point is, you say we're being unreasonable, we're really not when you consider what KU expects practically every year. All we're wanting is to make the NCAA's.

I can understand the "setting up for disappointment" post — having expectations (or at least hopes) for an NCAA bid shouldn't be a stretch, but thinking in the 24-25 range for regular season wins is a smidgen steep.
