Rush The Court Big 12 Summer Update
Link
This is probably the best college basketball blog out there, but I don't think this is their best effort. Here it is anyway. 9. Iowa State Cyclones: Fred Hoiberg had a rollercoaster inaugural season. The unassuming Cyclones started the season 13-2, fattening up on a slate of overmatched mid-majors before going 3-13 in conference play. This year, the conference tally might hover around last season’s mark, but don’t expect another non-conference run of Hilton Magic to get into the Clones. With Hoiberg was able to lure many transfers to Ames (including three from the Big Ten), so this year is a hodgepodge of players from a variety of backgrounds who will nonetheless have to mesh or falter. Melvin Ejim should get a ton of scoring opportunities for an otherwise infertile offense, so people around the country might latch onto him, but other than that, ISU fans might wish the calendar was flipped up a year for most of the season.

Re: Rush The Court Big 12 Summer Update
It's about the best treatment you get after finishing in last place. At least they knew a player's name.
I would disagree pretty strongly with his assessment of our soon-to-be "infertile" offense, but he's never seen these guys play. He's making the simple assumption that transfers won't mesh well together.

Re: Rush The Court Big 12 Summer Update
Does he even realize they have had an entire year to "mesh" and not just be a "hodgepodge" of players? I give it an 'F.'

This sentence is atrocious: "With Hoiberg was able to lure many transfers to Ames (including three from the Big Ten), so this year is a hodgepodge of players from a variety of backgrounds who will nonetheless have to mesh or falter."
Besides being a very superficial analysis of this year's potential, basically looking at who is left from last year, he doesn't even mention Scotty.
No matter what, I could NEVER cheer for Dirt and Urine. -

Besides being a very superficial analysis of this year's potential, basically looking at who is left from last year. And even at that, no mention of Scotty, even. That's how Texas Tech's ranking was done, too. If the blogger didn't know the players, he rated the team low.

Wow, that was brutal. He could have at least looked at any other source before posting this to see if he was way off the mark.

Re: Rush The Court Big 12 Summer Update
That was a very lazy blurb.

Re: Rush The Court Big 12 Summer Update
I'm being completely objective when I say that was a terrible, half-assed analysis. And it was poorly written to boot.

I have little, nay, no doubt we exceed that prediction.

Re: Rush The Court Big 12 Summer Update
The blog entry is rubbish, but I'm kind of glad that we are firmly under the radar of a lot of publications/rival schools.
I have a distinct feeling that Hilton Magic is back in a big way this year, and that we beat some big boys at home this year.

Re: Rush The Court Big 12 Summer Update
Well, there it is. This poorly written and researched paragraph above has demolished my hopes of winning plus 10 games. Ho hum.

Re: Rush The Court Big 12 Summer Update
The author thinks we're going to actually do worse than last year? That's the worst prediction I've heard.

Re: Rush The Court Big 12 Summer Update
