Re: Last 2012 scholly/Who do you want?/VIDEOS
I would take any of the first 3. Ray Lee has good size and would be a change of pace from Sledge. SDW would be an athletic 2 and a slasher, something we haven't had in years. I've had my eyes on NWC for a while though and if I had to pick one, that's who I would nab.
"Freddie knows the game," Bird said. "I'm sure he picked up a lot of stuff over the years from different people. College is different from the NBA, but I'm sure he'll do a great job." -
Re: Last 2012 scholly/Who do you want?/VIDEOS
I like Negus the most out of all them, he would make a great 2 guard/3 for us

Re: Last 2012 scholly/Who do you want?/VIDEOS
I like Webster Chan and Dorsey Walker just due to there length and the multiple positions they can both play. They both can play the one, two, or 3. However the other would be Ray lee. Gifted Point guards are always good to have.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Re: Last 2012 scholly/Who do you want?/VIDEOS
I've said it before - I'll say it again: I can't be disappointed with any of the guys on the list. As long as we can get one of those - we are in great shape. When was the last time we were in on a list of guys like this for our 13th scholarship?? How they transition and develop as big 12 players is TBD, but the upgrade in reputed talent in 1.5 years is fantastic.
It has been awhile since I watched a vid of NWC - forgot how smooth he is. As far as body-type, and fluidity reminds me of the little bits of Clyburn I have seen. Good handle, can get into the lane, and has the height to rise up and get a shot off against post defenders.
I think he has fallen out of the recruting spotlight a bit as he did not have a great summer - but I believe he's been battling a nagging injury.
All that said, I voted for Early.

I had to go back to the thread about Early. You think he is the truth madcity?

Re: Last 2012 scholly/Who do you want?/VIDEOS
Early kind of reminds me of our guy 2 years ago that was one and done. Can't remember his name right now. Kind of a late bloomer.

A freshman class of Niang, Okoro, and Webster Chan or Lee or Dorsey Walker would be pretty good.

Originally Posted by Bardman I had to go back to the thread about Early. You think he is the truth madcity? I only know what I've read, but for some reason I give a slight nod to him. He sounds like he's got that rare combination of length + guard skills - perfect for a "one in, four out" style of play. He has a pretty decent offer/ visit list of: ISU, San Diego St, Alabama, Wichita St, and Washington and he has/ had other interest of Pitt, Mizzou, Marquette, Arkansas, etc... I get the impression that Early was a "late bloomer" and is really just now beginning to realize his potential as a scorer. ...Sounds a little like the Clyburn story that was written a month ago or so...
The other half of it, is that it could help us balance our classes a bit. A look at potential rosters - after '12-13' season, we will lose/ graduate:
Lucious
Clyburn
Babb
Booker
McGee White?
That's a lot of talent & experience!
'13-'14 team could have a big drop off. We will be very young (but still talented, I think). SR's:
Ejim
Railey White? JR's:
Sledge
Gibson Sophs:
Okoro
Niang
It sounds like Early will attend SUNY Sullivan again this year, and then have two years of eligibility beginning with the '12-13' season. I'm just thinking that Early could ease the experience transition, not to mention that he will provide even more depth the year before.
Now, I would be very interested to know who the coaching staff wants most. Maybe after Italy trip, CW will have a chance to catch up on bball recruiting - maybe he will get a sense of the staffs wants..

Re: Last 2012 scholly/Who do you want?/VIDEOS
New video of Brian Bernardi just came out. He's improved a lot, much stronger and athletic than people thought and definitely not just a shooter. Showed he can drive, has mid range game and showed some dunks at hoop group all star game.

Wow. bernardi surprised me wasn't too thrilled with the offer, but looks to be a little like Singler lacking the size, but his shot also looks like Austin Rivers....

Re: Last 2012 scholly/Who do you want?/VIDEOS
My vote is NWC as we would get 4 years out of him (although Early would be a good get). Does anyone know who the center is for Huntington Prep? He is HUGE!
