Royce White On the Court Resembles...
"Magic" Johnson with his ball handling and passing; only Royce plays at 6' 8", 250 lb. vs. 6' 8", 215 lb. (NBA statistics) for Magic (I'm sure Magic was lighter playing for Mich. St.). I don't see Royce playing the point, but his skill set looks pretty similar to Magic's. The team needs to ride his coattails as far as they can take them. I'm sure Royce will be "one and done" after this season and enter the draft as a lottery pick. Of course this is only my opinion and nothing else. Even so, I feel this upcoming MBB season will be something special.

Re: Royce White On the Court Resembles...
I may be crazy, but I'm going to wait until he plays an NCAA game, and a Big 12 one, before I compare him to Magic OR say he's a lottery pick after one year.

Yeah, that's going a little overboard to compare any of his skills to one of the best players of all time. I also think that he's kind of an NBA tweener, so lottery pick may be off base. We'll see how he defends and rebounds. I do think that he has a handle a passing ability that is unusual for someone his size.

I maybe crazy, but I see so much ability in him that he just jumps out and commands your attention. You're right though, we need to see Royce's performance in the regular season in order to make a proper evaluation of his talent. Even so, I don't think being an NBA lottery pick is out of the question for Royce.

Re: Royce White On the Court Resembles...
Its evident from any film that Royce has alot of ability. Alot of that film though, is against inferior competition. We'll see how he does when he plays against Big 12 ability level.

Re: Royce White On the Court Resembles...

He's definitely talented, but he will be going against some very talented, seasoned guys as well. He hasn't played a high-level, meaningful game in his life outside of HS. He's gonna be good, let's just keep expectations in check and enjoy the ride.

Re: Royce White On the Court Resembles...
Just waiting to see Royce and the entire team, for that matter, before casting judgement or superlatives at a particular player. Magic is one of the top 5 greatest of all time and Royce hasn't stepped foot on the court for one DI game, I am, however, optimistic about the season and can't wait to see him perform in real games.

I think some need to cage their excitement until we see this team on the floor in a real game.
