The only problem was he was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overrated as the biggest post players he was playing against were about 6'4". He signed with Nebraska and was absolutely awful and ended up transferring to Jacksonville State in the middle of the season his 2nd year with the Huskers.

We will find out next year about Woodbury. Is he actually good enough to play against college level post players that are athletic, have good offensive moves, and can defend.... or is he a paper tiger created by playing against a bunch of guys that were 7 or 8 inches shorter then him. I think he is most likely going to be exposed as the 7 foot paper tiger we all know he is.
Hate to defend Woodbury here but he has competed against the best post players in the country at AAU camps and other events and has more than held his own. I don't think he's going to be the next Cody Zeller but he will be solid for them

Solid? Iowa fans are expecting him to be a combination of Shaq, Kevin Garnett, Kareem, Wilt, and Bill Russell. So what you are saying is... they are going to be sorely disappointed?

I see Withey. A difference maker defensively, not great offensive output. I'd take a Withey caliber player any day.

I don't see him being as "good" as withey.

I'm saying as he gets to his JR/SR year. As with most 7 footers, he'll develop slow, IMO

Complete opposite of Withey. Withey is athletic and can block shots. Woodbury is neither. But Woodbury can score over both shoulder and will be a better scorer than Withey

It's weird how many made up quotes I see on here about what random Iowa fans say. Then these made up quotes, get other ISU fans even more riled up about Iowa's recruits. Bizarre! Go to the actual Iowa board and you'll see that 9 out of 10 don't think this whatsoever. Half don't even think he'll start. A moderator calling an Iowa recruit "rat face", lame and bitter. Grow up Janny.

I prefer to not visit Iowa boards. The filth posting there is just too much to handle. ISU fans simply understand the mind of hok fan. It goes something like this....

"This is the year we win the national championship in football"
"Player X we signed is going to be the best player in college history"
"Scandal? What scandal? Please disregard that rather large bump underneath the rug in Iowa City"

    etc......

    Edit... Almost forgot...

"When Kirk was at the last supper with Jesus, Jesus spoke to him and told St. Kirk to lead the Iowa Football team to glory. That is why Kirk took the job at Iowa and won't leave... he is the one in the black and gold robe in the painting"

Don't get me wrong, there are some extremely confident hawk fans, but they are few and far between. But taking 1 hawk fans opinion, then making it every hawk fans opinion, is a little overboard as well. Both our recruiting classes are good, and will help out programs in the future. Numbers are fun to talk about, but mean nothing.
