Inside Look at Royce White

that's a very nice profile. i'm often critical of reporters effort, but that was very informative and had some new info/quotes.

Re: Inside Look at Royce White
At first I read the title as "Inside Look at BARRY White"...and thought wtf? That would not be post I would click on! Although that guy had one of the all-time great voices...I don't need to see that!

Re: Inside Look at Royce White
This sentence concerns me a little bit....
Although White admits "there are still days where basketball isn't fun" and he worries constantly about being spread too thin to reach his full potential in any of his pursuits, he has not once considered quitting basketball again since coming to Iowa State.

Re: Inside Look at Royce White
Nice to see a young man grab that second chance and run with it. He seems like an intelligent guy, with a lot of ambition. I'm really looking forward to watching him this year.

I had no idea that he had an anxiety disorder. That can suck the fun out of everything you do.

Hope he has big games against UT, OU and Tam.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Inside Look at Royce White
This line caught my eye, "What led White to reconsider giving up basketball was a series of conversations in May and June of last year with his mother and a family friend who serves as a mentor to him." I trust this "last year" is 2010? When did he commit to ISU?
Coach must be pretty content with White and the other bigs. The recruiting focus seems to be on smaller men.

Re: Inside Look at Royce White
Kudos to Mr. Eisenberg, that was a fascinating and well-written article. Every time I read about Royce or see a clip of him, or a pic of him at a football game, I am more and more sure that he is a special person and talent and is going to be a HUGE star in Ames for the next 2 years. he seems to have the kind of maturity and charisma and magnetic personality that provides instant chemistry to a team, and the behavior of the "scout" team from last year would seem to back that up completely.
As you can probably tell, I'm having a very hard time reigning in my bball optimism.

Re: Inside Look at Royce White
