Demarcus Phillips?
Does anyone know where Demarcus Phillips ended up?

In before "he's not at ISU, who cares?"

Thanks for the info, I was just curious.

Re: Demarcus Phillips?
I know this is a ridiculous thread resurrection, but I was just thinking today: how different would Fred's first three years have been if McD had recruited Clyburn out of MCC before he left instead of Phillips. Could we at least have made an NIT run that first year? Would he have clicked with Royce last year, maybe helped us get a better seed or further in the tournament? Would McGee have ever been a Cyclone if one of Babb/Scotty/Allen were coming off the bench for that team? What would this years team have looked like without Clyburn?

Re: Demarcus Phillips?
Clyburn was smart to want nothing to do with McD.

Re: Demarcus Phillips?
Actually it was Mcd who did not want Clyburn. He wanted Phillips instead. Clyburn wanted to commit to ISU.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Re: Demarcus Phillips?
The way i heard it Clyburn not signing was on Fred. Clyburn wanted to sign with ISU but wanted to red shirt the first year. Fred wanted Clyburn to sign but needed immediate help. So instead Will went to Utah where he ended up pulling his red shirt because of injury.
Also, as i recall, Phillips was a late signee by Fred.

Undoubtedly had better coaching in his one year at Utah and the year he sat out. Also leads me back to la doormat not being a very good judge of talent if he made that call as well as the fact he claimed Dougie wasn't good enough for the Big 12.

He would have had Fred for two years if he had come here, so it's not like he would have ever played for McD.

Also, as i recall, Phillips was a late signee by Fred. Wouldn't Clyburn have qualified as "immediate help"? That doesn't really make sense to me, but who knows.

He had been very, very athletic and explosive. Something happened when he got here, but no one really knows what. He had a minor injury, but somehow lost his aggressiveness and athleticism when he arrived.

Re: Demarcus Phillips?
This is true. Coach Hoiberg had absolutely nothing to do with Phillips signing at Iowa State! Originally Posted by CycloneErik That was all McD stuff. Fred did sign him, when he signed McD's recruiting class.

Had McDermott been in good shape coaching wise Doug would have had an offer from ISU. He didn't want Doug to have to go thru the stress of watching both his Dad and his coach being fired.
