I think, long-term, Sledge is more of a 2, so pairing him up with a tall point is going to be important. In that regard, Long seems like a good fit with this team as we move past the Christopherson/Allen/McGee/Lucious years.

That would be insane.

From the little I've seen, he looks like a scorer/combo guard more than a passer/true point. Additionally, I prefer point guards with some length to allow them to see more and to have a little extra ability to get the ball to where it needs to be. I'm not saying that he won't ever play the point, but I would expect another guard who is more of a pure point to be on the court with him for a majority of his playing time over the next four years.

I expect Sledge to be a change of pace backup for most of his career. PT depending on who we are playing.

No way Sledge is a 2 for most of his career. He's a pure point guard from what I've seen of him and he can also get to the rim when he wants to. His outside shot is very shaky but he was looking to dish 99% of the time during the CCL which is the opposite you would expect out of a league like that.

With as quick as Sledge is it would be great if he could be a guy who could get out and deny opposing point guards and take away the dribble drive. We haven't had anybody who could do that in awhile.

Fred said Sledge was the only true PG on the roster.
