KU misses on another top recruit
Self has had some tough luck the last six months... arguably more so than at any time during his KU tenure. He's lost out on a number of his recruiting targets. Here's another one. Top big man recruit Tarczewski picks Arizona over Kansas | Campus Corner -

i'm really enjoying watching self whiffing on all these recruits. probably won't last, but fun for now.

Great job. You just ensured that our resident KU fan will now chime in with info from his KU insiders on how he really wasn't a top target anyways and "insert player" is a much better prospect.

From what I've read, KU put a lot of their resources into getting him. But how about Arizona's class? pretty dang good.
"We embrace that challenge and what it presents to us. I’m going to approach all 12 games this way: We’re going to win them all. If we prepare and then go out and execute, we’re going to win all 12. Now how many are we going to end up with at the end of the year? I don’t know, and you’re right, I won’t put a number on it."- Paul Rhoads on having the toughest schedule in the Big 12 -

K State lost a recruit to Kentucky this week as well.

I think the turmoil with the Big 12 will have an effect on recruiting for all teams.

Re: KU misses on another top recruit
Cauley and Tarczhewski (er whatever his name is) just saved themselves the trouble of getting fouled out by Royce White. That's actually what informed their decisions.
If Arizona can hold on to these guys, and get them on the floor at the same time... Wow-ee!
KU recruiting is not looking good at the moment. For their sake, I hope they can hold on to McLemore (one of the guys ruled ineligible this year), or they are really going to hurt. I'm not exactly an expert on their roster, but it doesn't seem like they have the stable of horses they normally do.

Also in related negative KU news, Tyshawn Taylor and Elijah Johnson have been suspended from both exhibition games for breaking team rules during the off-season. Not a big deal, but this is like the 2nd or 3rd time Taylor has been reprimanded for behavior/ team rules.

I hope they have to play 5 walkons, go 0-30, and lose 10 of them on threes scored during dead balls.

The meltdown on KU's board is fun to read. I'm hoping we're seeing the beginning of the end of Self's dynasty at KU.

...but the objective half of me wants them to be some semblance of decent when we pound them... Otherwise "beating KU" just isn't going to mean the same thing.
A bit of a duality, yes.

I like Bill Self, but it's kind of nice to see them struggle to get the top talent.

I'm just frustrated and embarrassed of their dominance of B12 titles; no other team has given them a challenge.
