This is correct. The concept of him throwing the game is stupid. He could have left ISU the year earlier to be a first round nba draft pick. Also, he only hurt his draft position with that game and the end of year collapse.
Tinsley carried that team way above where they should have been. They collapsed back to earth their last three games. The tank was empty.
The guy was an amazing player for ISU.

Re: Tinsley
I do remember switching to I think ESPN and on the bottom line right after the loss it was saying something about a investigation into the ISU - Hampton game in regards to point-shaving...Nothing ever came from it, but I know I saw it....

Re: Tinsley
That team was not a good team anymore by the time we got to the NCAAs. Had played like **** for 2-3 weeks prior to that. Lucky we were able to hold on and with the B12.

Re: Tinsley
I've also heard something similar, who knows if it is true but the rumor is definitely out there.

Re: Tinsley
past is the past.. he was an amazing cyclone.. and would love to be able to watch him again
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

Ronnie Harmon however................

Is it true...who knows. Would I be the least bit surprised? Hell no.

He would dribble between defender's legs and make unbelievable no-look passes to Fizer on the block. I absolutely loved watching him play.

LE burnt that team out during the regular season but they had a whole week after the Baylor loss in the B12 tourney to recover and they still couldn't do it.

And not to say Tinsley did anything wrong either, but if there is one player in Iowa State history whose play could take down the whole team it would be him. Tinsley made that team what it was.

True but it makes no sense to make a big moneyline bet and hope one player can unobviously throw a game against a clearly inferior opponenet. Keeping a game from being a blowout and actually throwing a game are 2 completely different animals.
JT didn't miss all of the free throws so if the game was fixed JT wasn't the lone gunman.

Total ********.
That entire team was spent. They played way above their heads that season and their lack of talent and quality depth caught up to them. They were exposed in a road loss to Texas and were shaky from then on. They lost to Baylor in their first game of the Big 12 tournament.
