Remember Justin Hamilton?
Good article here about him and his upcoming season with LSU.
Of all the transfers-out we had around that time, I've always felt this one hurt the most; more than Lucca, even. Guys with his combination of size and athleticism are so rare, and the circumstances surrounding his departure typified the issues with McDoormat's control of the program (the fact that he said "I want to play closer to home [Utah] and ended up even further away should say something about how bad it was under McD). It really tears me that we let him slip through the cracks.
Here's to hoping he has a great season in the SEC (and mops the floor with Missery if they join by 2012).

Jamie Pollard should put Stinson's headband behind glass and have it retired. No ISU player will ever wear one again.

Re: Remember Justin Hamilton?
I don't want Ham to succeed any more than any other player at any other school. I do appreciate that he waited until after the year to leave rather than in the middle of the season (I'm looking at you Lucca) but after the playing closer to home thing I just don't care for the kid much. If he left because McDoormat is a terrible coach just say so

Here's to hoping he has a great season in the SEC (and mops the floor with Missery if they join by 2012). He had a lot of potential, but he was a ******* doughboy. That could, of course, change, but if he continued like that, he would have been thrown around in the Big 12. Good size, but relatively weak.
I'll be interested to see how LSU trained him and see if he's tougher/stronger now.
And as far as Lucca goes, the guy was never good as an all around basketball player. He could make 3 pointers, which i could do in 6 grade. Anybody can learn to make 3 pointers. He couldn't do much of anything else. Hamilton was, in fact better.

He said the polite thing that kids say on their way out of a terrible situation. Just like coaches that want to retire in order to spend time with their families. It's just what you say.

Lucca was a defensive liability and a one trick pony (3 point shooter).
We could have used Hamilton last year, but it would have only made us a NIT team.
Hamilton's lack of mobility and half court style of play would not have fit in with this team very well. I would rather have what Godfrey (strength, athletic, runs the court) had on the court and Hamilton had off the court (GPA, tweeter, etc.).
Just my 2 secs.

LSU has him listed at 260 lbs, which is the same as when he was here. Maybe he's added muscle and become leaner, but it's hard to tell from the photo in the article. He did get knocked around some at ISU, but I assumed he'd beef up a little after his sophomore year a la Jared Homan.
