Lehigh
So what do we know about this team? I went to ESPN and looked at some of our stats compared to their stats for last year. They seem pretty decent, but I'm not sure about this year. What do you guys know?

Re: Lehigh
Someone mentioned that they're projected to win their conference and go dancing.
That's as specific as I can be.

McCollum is a real good player. Lehigh's McCollum on verge of national attention - CBSSports.com
We get a chance to watch them wednesday. They play St John's on ESPN2 at 6pm. They gave penn state a good scare last year in their first game. I'm not expecting a 40 point win in this one. They can play a little.

Re: Lehigh
They played Kansas in the NCAA tournament a couple years ago.
Former waukee player Gabe Knutson and Johnston player Cory shaeffer are on the team

Re: Lehigh
Looks like a pretty decent first game which is kind of nice because it will keep the guys focused and they won't take this team for granted. Hopefully Chris Allen because it would be nice to be able to have him guard McCollum.

Re: Lehigh
Should be a good test.
Of their 5 players who averaged over 20 minutes last year, 4 of them are back, so they are experienced.
They finished last year 198 in kenpom's standings, 2 places ahead of drake. They play fast (slightly ahead of us in tempo last year), but aren't really good at anything. They shot the 3pt shot poorly (<33%) and lost their best 3pt shooter. They were average (in all of D1) in offense, but well below average in defense. Given what we saw last year, I'd expect us to push the pace more and get up to around 90 in this game. We should win it by 15-20.
Their best two players, based on stats are CJ McCullom, who can score from anywhere and has stats that remind me of Curtis Stinson playing at a mid-major (21.8pts, 7.8 rebs, 2.1 assts, 2.8 to, 2.5 stls)
Gabe Knutsen, 6-9 220lb junior from waukee, is their second best player.
The next best player appears to be Holden Greiner, a 6-7 210lb wing.
They have two big guys (240lbs and 260lbs) but they didn't play much if at all last year.
They also return their freshman pt guard from last year, Mackey McKnight, who averaged 3.7 asts and 1.6 tos per game.

Re: Lehigh
I'm glad to hear that they may be a challenge. I hate going to blowouts unless it's an unforseen one against a good team.

Re: Lehigh
looks like this game has a chance to be a tight one

Re: Lehigh
I heard from somebody that one of their freshman, #15 I think, was really impressing some people and might have a huge impact on the game. We'll see I guess

Re: Lehigh
Gabe Knutson is their 2nd best player. We should be fine
