Re: 1990-1991 MBB schedule
That's as tough of a schedule as anyone can ever imagine. I still really like the team ISU had that year. Victor was a senior, as was Doug Collins, Phil Kunz, and Paul Doerrfeld. The Freshmen that year were Skip McCoy, Donnell Bivens, and Saun Jackson. And it was Justus' sophomore year. The win vs. Michigan was obviously very important to Coach Orr. And there were great wins against Temple, a home win vs. Missouri (Doug Smith & Anthony Peeler), a convincing win at Kansas State, a sweep of Oklahoma, and a great win at home against Oklahoma State.

Not a bad roster at all. Imagine if Victor & Doerrfeld were seniors & Justus was a junior instead. Hmmm.
Considering the fallout on the marquee players — Heck, that year might have been Orr's best job as a coach at ISU.
Donnell Bivens. How could I have forgotten that name? -

The Gophers raised the hanging scoreboard 20 feet the next year.
EDIT: My bad, this was 1991-92. Still fun to remember it though yeah, I was at that game. Hoiberg was a freshman. Great game. After we won, we were 10-2 with a tough non conference schedule that year too. Finished the non conference at 13-2. That team made the second round of the NCAAs and lost a close one to Ky.
