Vegas sees an Iowa State team that won 3 games in conference last year and lost three of their four leading scorers. Add to that being on the road against Drake, who is pretty solid at home (they have won 5 straight at the Knapp Center, including wins against decent UNI and Creighton teams last year.)

Obviously, we all know Iowa State has added talent, but Vegas can't account for the unknown. Keep in mind, more talented Iowa State teams have gone into Knapp and gotten beat (the Elite 8 team). I think Iowa State wins by 8-10, but expect a feisty effort from the Bulldogs.

TV Question: Why is it that Mediacom, a cable company that features it's HD line-up, doesn't make it's own programming channel an HD broadcast. Does anyone else find that odd?

Considering MC22 only exists to offer up some cheap, but enticing, local programming to siphon some customers away from Dish and DirecTV, and not to be a profitable channel unto itself, I don't think it's that odd. However, if the rumors of them running a bunch of fiber to Hilton are true, maybe they are looking to up their broadcast quality.

What exactly is a hip pointer? I've heard it 1000 times and know that they're supposed to be really painful, but I guess I don't know what it is.

It was explained to me, when I had one, that it is essentially a bruise on your hip, and it bleeds underneath the membrane there. Very painful.
