    Re: Ejim?

If he'd just learn that it is ok to dunk it instead of try to lay it in nicely off the glass and miss it....

Dunk the ball and your crying your arm got hit with diminish greatly because you won't be affected as much going strong to the rim.

    Re: Ejim?

The whole team were missing bunnies last night. They probably missed 15 layups or shots around the rim. That isn't going to happen every night, neither is Chris Allen shooting 2-13 from the field.

I see. That makes sense...but sucks a lot. I really like Ejim, hopefully he can get his mind right and back on track.

He was horrible last night. He should have played 2 minutes instead of 20. Guy can't make a layup.

He has had two bad games in a row. So has Scotty. Our leading assist man so far is Allen, and I am not sure why he isn't playing the point instead. Scott hasn't been the same shooter the first two games of the year.

That happens when you don't have DG slicing and dicing the defense and then kicking it out to wide open shooters.

    Re: Ejim?

These are the growing pains that this team needs to work through. We have a ton of talent on the team this year. Watching the game last night it was almost as if guys thought each time they touched the ball it might be their last opportunity to get their name in the stat sheet. Ejim threw up a crap shot every time he touched the ball going 1-7 from right under the basket, Royce would dribble the ball up the floor and 98% of the time just decided to try and go 1 on 1... there is a reason every single foul he committed was a charging foul. Allen was firing up ill advised 3's early in the shot clock rather then working the ball around going 0-7 from deep, and poor Scotty C. was trying to work the ball around so much that he never had a chance to shoot the ball himself getting off only two 3-point attempts.

Memo to Iowa State Basketball players... T-E-A-M. That is the only thing that matters. When you have a couple guys with a hot hand you work to get them open and get them the ball... aka... pass the ball to McGee and Babb. They went a combined 6 of 8 from deep and those 2 combined only took 10 shots the entire game while Chris Allen fired off 13 shots making only 2 and going 0-7 from 3. Looked like FAR too much of the "I'll keep shooting because I have to get mine" attitude last night.

There's a fine line between that and "I'll keep shooting because I'm an elite shooter and they are going to start falling eventually".

That doesn't explain Ejim's bad games because he has been missing shots inside, not getting rebounds like he usually does.
