So Sick of Losing to UNI and Drake

Well, at this point any victory in the Big 12 will be a pleasant surprise. I cannot be disappointed by the rest of the season... there is only one way to go from here.

Saw this posted in the Post-game report by CW, just thought it would be nice to highlight, cause it is exactly why I am starting to hate UNI more than Iowa...

Yeah, ISU is more talented, blah, blah, blah. When you've lost 3 in a row at Hilton and 5 of the last 6 to the Panthers, admit it, they're a better team and a better program. And to talk down about the Missouri Valley, is a mistake. Don't think the Big 12 is so superior. Do I have to remind you that UNI beat KU in the tourney when KU was supposedly #1 in the country? Creighton can play with anyone in the Big 12. UNI would finish in the upper half of the Big 12, and they're probably only the 3rd or 4th best team in the Valley this year. Have some class and give the Panthers some credit and don't just say how badly the Cyclones played.

I can't handle UNI fans, seriously drives me nuts... Always trying to argue that their football/basketball/[Insert Athletic Program] are better than ISU's. Oh well they are probably just hawk fans anyways..

Man he must have gotten ahold of the cyclone men's BB preseason kool aid, that's some pretty strong stuff when you say the 3rd or 4th best team in the Valley could compete with one of the best basketball conferences in the country in terms of depth. I hope he realizes that ISU was STILL picked last this year, despite our talent upgrade.

So basically his argument is that since UNI is the 3rd or 4th best team in the MVC, and that ISU, probably one of the lower teams in the B12(Unless we can improve on our early season performances, which is possible), got beat on an off night, therefore UNI could be a top 5 team in the B12.

I don't look down on UNI, what they've done with their program since GMac coached there has been very good, and they are a dangerous team, who plays well beyond their athletic ability. They play with heart, and they will grind it out and force you to play ball their style. But let's be realistic here...

My argument isn't that every time ISU loses to UNI, it's because ISU played terrible. But tonight DID ISU play poorly, and that IS why we lost. There have been times in the past couple years where ISU played alright, and still came up short, simply because UNI played better. Tonight I can't say I was pleased with our performance, besides the first quarter of the game.

I agree with you 110%.....Johnny Walters said that UNI has 8 freshmen on their team....

After the past 6 years I'm all in on dropping uni from our schedule.....

If there's one thing that I want to see improve on both ends of the floor its for us to be a more physical team. We were the bigger more athletic, stronger team and we allowed them to get whatever position they wanted in the post, (which they didn't allow us to do) we don't have our bigs push they're bigs on high screens, we don't hedge on high screens. I'm sure there's alot more I'm missing, I just want to see a more physical team, period and a commitment to boxing out.
