What I love is that ever since Iowa started sucking at basketball, Hawk fans claim that the Wrestling match is a bigger deal than the basketball game. John Miller has claimed this a few times as well.
Wrestling is bigger? Hilarious. If their wrestling program didn't win the Big Ten every year and National Championships every couple of years their home meets would be attended about as well as their basketball games. It's easy to support success regardless if you have any real interest in it or not. See Iowa Basketball as a prime example because somehow 15,000 fans per game have forgotten where Carver Hawkeye Arena is.
The main difference between ISU and Iowa fans right now, is that Iowa fans have actually realized their team sucks. Sad, but true.
The main difference between the basketball programs at Iowa State and Iowa is that ISU has a ton of talent and Iowa doesn't have any.
The main difference between Iowa State and Iowa fans right now is that ISU fans feel good about the future of the program and understand the growing pains this team is having early in the season while Iowa fans have no feelings at all about the Iowa program.... complete and total apathy.
