Get back to me when you decide. O, so when you said teams, you meant Basketball and Football, not wrestling? My mistake for thinking you were referring to all ISU sports. Iowa fans are no different than any other fan of any other team that sucks, when talking about their bball program. Did you not pay attention to the Lickliter years? Your picture is a two year old picture from the great Lickliter years. Seriously, it was terrible to watch, and it may have single handedly killed Iowa basketball for years to come. The problem we have now, is that there is still a lot of Lick left on that team. Archie, Brommer, and May are not D1 bball players, let alone starters, and two of them are starters. Football is way different than basketball, and you'll still see Iowa football season tickets sell out, despite having average years. Iowa bball fans are excited for the future, as we've got solid core of Freshman and Sophomore's right now, with a good recruiting class coming in, but the bottom line is that we just aren't good this year.
Bragging about going to watch a crappy football or basketball team, as it relates to fandom, is as silly as bragging about having the 2nd smallest ***** in the room. Iowa's athletic dept isn't hurting for $, and Iowa fans know this. If you want me to get off my couch and drive 100 miles to watch an Iowa game on a Wednesday night, you better damn well put a product on the court that makes me want to do that. I'm not going to spend my hard earned $ on the crap product that Lickliter put on the court.

Re: Why I love Iowa fans
We obviously don't work together. My office is split 70/30 ISU versus Iowa fans. No Cardinal and Gold in the house today. Not even from the one person actually going to the game and not even from me--supporting the Panthers today due to the playoff game tonight.
Both programs are crappy right now. Just not a lot of excitement for hoops in this state from either program.

No, you decided it was appropriate to talk about other teams, so I took one I already knew and wouldn't have to look up. (I didn't know right off the top of my head what the wrestling squad was averaging for fans this year. I'll bet you didn't either.) However, when I did, you suddenly were aghast that I was bringing another sport into the conversation.

The same can't be said about Iowa fans and basketball. 10-15 years ago, Hawkeye basketball was still a big deal and Carver was always full and loud. Hawk fans cared deeply about basketball.
I don't know how many Iowa fans I've talked to this week that didn't even realized the Iowa/ISU basketball game was today, and they topped it off with "I don't even LIKE basketball".
I guarantee when Iowa gets their basketball program turned around, Carver will be full and all of these Hawkeye basketball fans come back out of the woodwork. A lot of Hawk fans are front runners.

Oh yes.... Iowa is the 71st ranked university in the US and Iowa State is only #97. I bet the difference between those two is like the difference between Harvard and DMACC. Get a clue moron. -

Re: Why I love Iowa fans
Velo, you do realize I never said you couldn't bring other coaches into it right? That was your own Cyclone ally. You said ISU supports their "teams" even when they suck, and I pointed out that, that is actually not true in what is going on with your wrestling program (7000k fans at the Iowa/ISU dual this year and there wasn't that many, compared to over 11,000 two years ago). It may be true for football and basketball, but not wrestling, and that is one of your "teams". Move past it, your statement was incorrect.
Call me a fairweather fan, I don't really care, but driving 100 miles to watch my team get blown out when I could save $50 and watch it on my couch is smart, not fairweather.
