Why would it? One bad game doesn't change a thing. Iowa will still be a darkhorse B1G championship contender, and Iowa State will be lucky to make the NIT.
"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr
Agreed, but expecting a freshman to come in and run point first year is asking a lot. I think he will play behind Sledge year 1 but should log in some good playing time.

More probably, he will play behind Long to start off with. But, they could both be on the court at the same time which is not a bad thing to have. Not sure about Samuel's/Long's shooting abilities though.
"Of course the people don't want war ... the people can always be brought to do the bidding of the leaders. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to greater danger."

It is no longer unusual for top freshmen point guards like Samuel to start as freshman, especially when surrounded by quality upperclassmen.
Given Bubu is far ahead of Sledge, and has a higher upside, there is little chance it is Sledge he would play behind.
