Sagarin Time
USATODAY.com
Clones are 8th in B12 but they have the 3rd toughest B12 schedule so far. Iowa State is 69th.
Iowa has slipped to bottom of Big Ten.
The Big Ten and B12 are ranked as two best conferences.
If we do improve as a team and play .500 ball or better in conference, oue chances may not be too bad to go to a tournament.
Need to move up to 40s ranking to maker a serious run at tournaments.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Sagarin Time
Not too bad to be at 69, considering 3 losses, and no wins against anyone higher. Seems like we've rarely been below about 80 in non-conf over last several years.
Win against Iowa isn't helping (214). Probably actually getting "help" with the losses to UNI (27) and Michigan (47).
Being in the 40s, as you said, is getting into tournament territory. Will have to beat several top-25 teams in-conference, and no more bad losses.

Re: Sagarin Time
Question: Will the SOS that the Big Ten schedule improve Iowa's ranking? I'm thinking it does.

I don't even think they'd have to win many games and it'd go up

Re: Sagarin Time
The criticism of our non-conf and overall schedule was pretty ridiculous going into this year. The schedule is fine.

Re: Sagarin Time
We should win out with the rest of the non-conferences teams remaining, making us 10-3. As one poster said the Big12 is a solid league this year so wins in the conference are going to be hard to get. I think we have a 60% chance to pick up 6 wins against Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and Texas. More than likely we'll go 4-2 against these teams. We can steal at least 1 win from Kansas State and Oklahoma. If everything plays out like I said, we'll be at 16 wins and will need to get 3 wins over Kansas, Baylor, Texas A&M and Mizzou just to be a lock for the NIT. Seems kind of like a long shot to me.
There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams -

Yep, unless we hit the accelerator and find some Hilton Magic.

You realize that OU is not that great this year, right? I would expect to sweep them, and split OSU.
