Re: Burgason's barrage not enough to topple the Cyclones
I have absolutely no problem with what Royce has done this year, but I still cringe every time he brings the ball up the floor.

Re: Burgason's barrage not enough to topple the Cyclones
White has huge huge potential, but based solely on what he has done so far he hasn't warranted all the hype.

Re: Burgason's barrage not enough to topple the Cyclones
White had a couple bad turnovers last night, but he also had 10-15 great passes, passes that should have turned into assists. His behind the back pass from the top of the key to the baseline for an open 3 pointer was as good a pass as ISU fans have seen since Tinsley played. One of White's TOs last night was when he tried to make a pass 3 feet from the basket to a guy uder the basket. The next time he was in that position it took the shot himself.

EXACTLY..... I was almost laughing last week when T&T was saying they missed on Doug McDermott. They didn't miss. GMac saw the writing on the wall that if he had another bad year or so that he would be **** canned.

Re: Burgason's barrage not enough to topple the Cyclones
White has talent. It just seems he doesnt want to get down and dirty. Yes last night he could have had 15 assits but he also could have not made the stuipid passes and scored 20 easy points.

They were sagging on him, and always doubled or triple teamed him when he got into the lane. A couple times, I saw four defenders in the lane when he had the ball low. He could have scored more, but there were always open men on the wing.

You forgot the sarcasm pirate. He is one of the most skilled players to come through in a long time.
Look at his numbers. Fantastic so far for a first year player.

Have to disagree w/ ya...at one point (game or two ago, maybe 3) he was one of only 2 ppl in the country to lead his team in every category...points, rebs, blocks, etc.

Eikmeier is averaging 17 pts a game this year, Burgason is averaging 14.
Eikmeier's career high is 25, in which he hit 5 threes against BYU (an elite eight team).

Re: Burgason's barrage not enough to topple the Cyclones
So Burgason, Bubu, McD, and Barnes were all on the same team?
Crazy to think we had a D-1 school in Ames that year, basically... they probably could have kept up with a few college schools.

Actually I'd settle for him just learning how to take some contact without being a whinny little girl. He literally stops playing for a bit.

Do people just not know or have they intentionally forgotten that he was pretty badly injured his freshman year, he was tough enough to try to play through it, but it dramatically impacted his play. When he was healthy early on, he made a huge difference with his shot by causing defenses to cover portions of the floor where they previously sagged and helped out, and he was a skinny freshman from nowhere NE. I knew he would develop his game to be more rounded, and he has.
So, I guess the rest of this statement is quite irrelevant as it assumes facts that are inaccurate (or at a very minimum, it assumes facts that are nowhere near proven).
As for Burgason this year (unlike the masses, I won't comment about prior years as I did not see him play those years), he would play and contribute. He comes off the ball and knows how to use his body to make room to shoot. He would be similar to Scotty, which is pretty good.
